Stonewood Decks installs pool decks engineered for constant moisture, heat, and bare feet, using slip-resistant surfacing and drainage planning specific to poolside conditions. Custom Design, Zero Compromise, for 17 years.
Stonewood Decks has spent 17 years building decks across Navarre, MN for families who spend their summers outside, whether that means a poolside deck that handles constant splashing, a covered deck that shields an evening dinner from the sun, or a composite surface that barely needs upkeep between seasons. Custom Design, Zero Compromise means we plan for how the space will actually be used before we plan how it will look, and then we build both properly.
Poolside and covered decks use materials specifically rated for constant moisture exposure.
Pool deck surfaces are selected and installed to reduce slip risk around wet areas.
Composite decking installed with hidden fasteners for a clean, low-upkeep finished surface.
Covered deck layouts are oriented to your yard's actual sun path throughout the day.

Seventeen years building in the same neighborhoods across Navarre, MN, with a reputation to protect.
Pool decks and covered outdoor spaces face different demands depending on regional humidity, sun intensity, and seasonal temperature swings, and Navarre, MN has its own specific pattern. Seventeen years of building here has taught us how to orient covered decks against the local sun path, which sealants and materials hold up best around pools in this climate, and how to plan drainage so water does not pool against the house foundation. That local insight shapes every outdoor project we take on in Navarre, MN.
Composite decking is popular around pools because it resists moisture damage and splintering with minimal upkeep, though certain hardwoods perform well too. We walk through slip resistance, heat retention, and maintenance tradeoffs during your design consultation.
We select surfacing with texture rated for wet, bare-foot traffic and plan board spacing and drainage to reduce standing water, which is the main cause of slippery poolside surfaces.
Generally the opposite. A well-oriented cover extends usable time outside by reducing direct sun and rain exposure, letting you use the deck through more hours of the day and more of the season.
Most composite installations take one to two weeks depending on square footage and structural complexity, similar to wood, since the framing process is largely the same regardless of surface material chosen.
Yes, drainage is mapped around existing pool equipment and the home's foundation during design, so water is directed away from structures rather than pooling against them.
We start with an on-site walkthrough to understand how you use the yard, follow with a design layout and written quote, then move into permitting, footings, framing, and finish work with one dedicated crew throughout.
